Turkish Vintage Kilim Cushion Cover – Handmade Wool Pillow (KC4456)

This cushion cover is made from a genuine vintage Anatolian kilim, originally woven in the mid-20th century as a yastık, a small decorative textile used in traditional Turkish homes. It is handwoven with wool and natural dyes, with the kind of geometric patterns and colors typical of Central Anatolia.

In our workshop, we select good, usable parts from old kilims that are no longer suitable as full rugs. Instead of letting them go to waste, we cut and remake them into cushions. Each one shows a different part of the original design—sometimes a motif, sometimes a small section of a larger pattern.

Because of this, no two pieces are the same. Even cushions from the same kilim will look different depending on which part was used.

The front is handwoven wool, with natural texture and color variation. The back is plain cotton in soft, neutral tones like beige or light brown. It has a hidden zipper, so it stays clean and simple in appearance.

These cushions work well as everyday decorative pieces, but they also carry the character of the original textile—something you don't get with newly made fabrics.
