Perde Pachwork Kilim

We've created a patchwork kilim rug by combining three types of narrow, elongated vintage kilims known as "perdes."
Historically, these slender woven kilims were sewn together as needed to divide tents and serve as curtains, adapting to the spaces where they were used.
Finding three vintage kilims in reds, deep blues, navy, black, and white stitching—each with distinct striping patterns yet sharing a cohesive aesthetic and character—and successfully combining them is truly remarkable.
The result is a striking, contemporary piece rich in design sensibility. The bold color moments blend seamlessly with the sophisticated tones, creating something almost like an art installation.
This kilim works beautifully in crisp, monochromatic modern spaces, as well as in deep wood-toned living rooms and bedrooms. It brings a tartan-like warmth and character to rustic settings—perhaps a different kind of coziness than you'd expect, adding layers of personality to log cabin atmospheres.
