This is another handsome example of the \"Sewan\" Kazak design group, a single large cruciform medallion with octagon ends from the late 19th century, southwest Caucasus area. The most striking feature of this carpet is that the \u003cem\u003ekochak\u003c\/em\u003e (ram's-horns) motif is virtually the sole decorative element. The medallion is decorated by ram's horns, hourglasses, and guarding dogs in pairs or superimposed.
